Myrtle Beach Area Beaches

Myrtle Beach is my top favorite place. I love to spend a lot of time in this wonderful, one of the most visited beaches on the East Coast, is such a popular vacation spot for nearly 14 million visitors a year.

It is so pleasant to lay in the sun and listen to the ocean. Forget about your work, now it's time for vacation. The most beautiful view on the beach it's a sunrise.

It could be very enjoyable to have evening walk, then is not so hot and sunrise will bring you so many gorgeous colors in the sky. The main reason to plan your vacation in South Carolina is warm, lovely, sandy beaches, with relaxing atmosphere.

The Grand Strand area, stretching over 60 miles along the Atlantic Coast, offer a remarkable variety of ocean side communities such Little River, Cherry Grove, North Myrtle Beach, Surfside Beach, Pawleys Island, Murrells Inlet, sunset Beach, Calabash, few others, with it's primary city Myrtle Beach.

The beaches are wide and clean, white sand like sugar, it's easy to walk on with plenty of sea shells for the kids to play, or take home. The air gets hot and muggy during the summer, but it's not a big deal, when you have all ocean in front of you.

There is free public parking in small lots between homes on the beach.

You might have to check a few of them before you find available spot, but usually it's not a problem. By some parking lots you can find outside shower and bathrooms.

That's what vacation is really about. Spending time with your friends and family at the beach. Get out and play in the sun, just don't forget to put sunscreen on, if you don't wanna look like a red lobster in the evening.

It is plenty activities you can do at the the beach like ride a boogie boards, body surfing, jump over waves, build sand castles, fly kites. At some areas volleyball nets are set up to play. Enjoy dolphins watch cruises, parasailing, fishing, banana boats riding, sailing and many more water attractions.

At selected places you can rent beach umbrellas, boogie boards, chairs, bicycles. If you planing to use it a lot, they are available to buy inexpensively at any of the numerous beach supply stores in town.

The boogie boards, chairs and umbrella are cheap enough that leaving them behind at the end of the vacation is not too painful. In summer time golf carts are cruising on a beach with snacks and frozen lemonade for sale.

Beach wheelchairs that can move on the sand are available free on a first-come, first-served basis. In the summer you can find them at select lifeguard stations, off season at the Myrtle Beach police station.

The Grand Strand area beaches are in sort of a long bay and it keeps the water from being very rough. On a sunny day it can get a bit crowded at the beach. If you prepare sunbathe without the crowds, I would recommend to visit Huntington Beach state park, Pawley’s Island, Murrell's Inlet or Surfside beach.

Bird Island, located near Sunset Beach in North Carolina also could offer you very quiet beach. On Sunset Beach town limit there is a large sign saying that nudity might be encountered in the Bird Island.

This is only one place I know in the Grand Strand area that nudity might be popular at times. You can reach Bird Island by boat, or walking from Sunset Beach along the seashore toward the South Carolina border. I might suggest staying somewhere in North Myrtle Beach. My favorite communities like Windy Hill or Crescent Beach has its own unique charm and known for its family beach atmosphere. You are close to everything you may want to do, and there are plenty of shopping places in this area too.

If you would like to have a picnic at the beach, and don't want to be surrounded by many people. I would recommend go to Windy Hill in North Myrtle Beach, somewhere near 48ave.N. and walk to the right along the seashore for about 20 minutes, you realize what its no more big hotels or houses in front of the ocean. There is almost no people too.

South Carolina's beautiful coastline offer a few piers, where you can go fishing, have dinner or just enjoy a nice view. At the end of beach trip, you might feel a little bit tired, lightly sunburned, but happy to have more great vacation memories to share.
